Casa Grande Air Conditioner Company
These pictures depict a recent air conditioner installation that we performed near Casa Grande, Arizona. We redid all the duct work, and we sized the equipment much more appropriately for the house. We removed a 5 ton heat pump unit and its ducting, the operation of which was costing the homeowner an enormous amount of money, and which also failed to cool and heat the house well, particularly the carport-turned-addition. This 5 ton was only equipped with (1) 14″ return and an undersized, partially uninsulated main supply duct. to give you an idea of how poorly designed this system was, a 14″ return is more suited for a 2 or 2.5 ton system than a 5 ton system. We informed the homeowner that it was better to start all over, than to try to fix the mess the previous contractor created. We installed a 3.5 ton 14 seer package heat pump, and it is doing a great job air conditioning and heating this home. We also added a 12″ return to an addition that never cooled well, and replaced the old 14″ return with a new R-6 14″ return. Oddly enough, most air conditioning systems, in this part of the country, are oversized, and often the corresponding duct is undersized.
